Brazil coach Tite named among best in the world

The Selecao boss has been ranked in the top 25 coaches currently active in world football, ahead of the likes of Rafa Benitez and Marcelo Lippi

Brazil boss Tite has come in at number 22 in French sports newspaper L’Equipe’s list of the top 50 coaches currently working in the game today.

The 55-year-old has led the Selecao to eight consecutive victories in World Cup qualifying since his June 2016 arrival, which saw five-time world champions Brazil become the first country to qualify for Russia 2018.

“Tite has brought his rigor, inspired by Italian football, his tactical knowledge, and a thirst for learning,” wrote L’Equipe

“He is an admirer of [Carlo] Ancelotti, pragmatic and at ease with players like the Italian, he knows how to comfort his stars and ensure his group work in optimal conditions.”

Tite ranked above the likes of Louis van Gaal, Rafa Benitez, Marcelo Lippi, Uruguay boss Oscar Tabarez and also former Selecao coach Luiz Felipe Scolari, who came in at no.41.
