.Wilfried Bony has applauded Swansea City's fans after they secured their first victory of the year.

An Alfie Mawson effort saw Carlos Carvalhal’s men pip Liverpool 1-0 in an English Premier League outing on Monday.

The defender scored the solitary goal of the encounter after benefitting from Virgil van Dijk's poor headed clearance which ended the 18-match unbeaten run of Jurgen Klopp’s side.

Bony who made a cameo in the game after replacing Jordan Ayew took to the social media to revel in the victory while thanking the Swans faithful

“Still believe. Good three points lads and thanks to the fans for their support,” Bony tweeted after the game.

Despite the win, Swansea are still at the base of the log with 20 points from 24 encounters.

They will now shift their attention to the FA Cup where they confront Notts County at Meadow Lane on Saturday.
