The winger was again impressive as the Trotters were held in an English second tier encounter and his manager is pleased with his display

Bolton Wanderers manager Phil Parkinson has expressed delight at Sammy Ameobi’s impact in Tuesday's English Championship draw with Sunderland.

The Anglo-Nigerian has been posting dazzling displays since his return from an ankle injury. And he scored the opener for the Whites in their 3-3 draw against Sunderland in Tuesday’s English Championship encounter.

The effort saw the former Newcastle United man take his tally to three goals in four games.

“Sammy was excellent tonight and he can be a very difficult player to deal with,” Parkinson told club website.

“He got 90 minutes under his belt which was very important and all-in-all I thought he played well and I’m pleased there was another goal for him.

“We know when you score three on your travels you have to get all three points and we haven’t done that tonight.

“However, from where we were a month ago, when we looked like we weren’t going to score, we now look really dangerous as a team and that’s great for us going forward.”

Ameobi will be hoping to continue his impressive run of form when Bolton host Norwich in their next game on November 4.
