The striker who signed a three-year contract extension this week found the back of the net in the Europa League preliminary stage

Ghana striker Richmond Yiadom Boakye scored twice for Red Star Belgrade in their 3-0 victory against Maltese side Floriana in the preliminary round of Europa League and has expressed his gratitude to his teammates and supporters.

The 24-year-old opened the scoring from the spot before connecting a pass from his teammate to put his side three goals up ahead of the return fixture next week.

''I dedicate my goals to God because he gave me the strength to achieve them. He put me in the right place at the right time,'' Boakye told his club's website.

''Also, without my teammates I would surely not be able to give two goals and I dedicate the goals to them, as well as to all of our fans. Every goal that I score for my club, I celebrate in a special way, what comes to my mind at that moment, I do it.

''I like to dance, I love to play and now I will celebrate all my goals so. I like to entertain fans after a nice goal as it was in the Europa League game,'' he added.

Boakye, who scored 16 goals for Red Star last season, has earned 10 appearances with Ghana since making his debut in 2012 and boasts of three goals but last played for the Black Stars in 2015.
