The 20-year-old talks about his ambitions in joining Major League Soccer side Sporting Kansas City earlier this year

In excited mood after his cup double on Tuesday, Sporting Kansas City attacker Latif Blessings has explicitly stated his goals with the Major League Soccer club.

The Ghanaian youngster struck twice in extra time to propel the Wizards to a 3-0 home victory over FC Dallas at Children's Mercy Park.

The victory earned Peter Vermes' outfit a place in the last four of the US Open Cup.

“I’m very happy," Blessing said.

"I thank Benny [Feilhaber], he just gave me the passes to score so I give the credit to Benny.

"We just worked hard for the team to move forward.

"We are here for the cup. I’m here for the cup.

"I just came from Ghana to win cups for Kansas City. I’m so happy to win.”

Blessing joined Kansas from local side Liberty Professionals in January after winning Best Player award in the Ghana Premier League last season.

He then had a brief loan spell with lower division outfit Swope Park Rangers before rejoining the Wizards.

At 20 years and 134 days, Blessing became the youngest player in Sporting KC history to net twice in a competitive match following an outstanding showing in a 2-2 league draw with Orlando City FC in May.
