Birmingham City have completed the signing of Senegalese international midfielder Cheikh N’Doye on a free transfer from Angers, the Championship side announced.

N’Doye is believed to have rejected a new contract offer from the French top tier side over the preferred move to England.

Harry Redknapp is keen to sign the Senegal international as he looks to bolster his team ahead of the new season.

The 31-year-old signed a two-year deal with Blues which will keep him at the club until at least June 2019.

N'Doye has captained Angers since their promotion in 2015 and helped Stephane Moulin's men maintain their Ligue 1 status with ninth and 12th place finishes in the previous two campaigns.
He also steered them to the French Cup final but his commanding displays made him a target for several clubs around Europe.

N'Doye arrived in France from Senegal in 2010 to join SAS Epinal in the French third tier. After a few seasons, he moved to Creteil where he spent three seasons.

He would then join the Scoistes and go on to make 65 Ligue 1 appearances and score 14 goals.
