The Warriors’ coach has stated that his players were undone by their failure to take their chances in their match against the Promise Keepers

Abia Warriors’ Abdullahi Biffo says that his boys’ wastefulness in front of goal contributed largely to their home draw with Akwa United on Wednesday.

The Ucendu Babes were held at home by Abdu Maikaba's men at the Umuahia Township Stadium and the gaffer blames his side's profligacy in the final third as their undoing.

“It was a tough match by all standards. Both players played as if their entire lives depended on winning the game but my boys were very casual in the final third of the pitch and it has reflected in the overall result,” Biffo told Goal.

"We failed to take our chances and this has slowed down our ambition to move as higher as possible on the league table with a win.

“We will go back to the round table and discuss what must be done to recover from this disappointment. We must find a solution very fast before the next game against Niger Tornadoes. It will be a difficult place to go but we will try our best.”

Abia Warriors are 13th on the league table with 39 points from 30 matches.
