France v Albania Betting Special: Griezmann can shine in Marseille

In a side of excellent footballers, there are perhaps two France players who stand out as being genuine world stars; Paul Pogba and Antoine Griezmann.

The Juventus man is arguably the most sought after midfielder in the world right now, while Griezmann continues to gather suitors from across the globe after another superb season for Champions League finalists Atletico Madrid. Neither player, however, was at their best in France's opening game against Romania and both will be keen to banish any doubts about their respective roles for Les Bleus with a big performance against Albania.

Despite not scoring in the opening game, Griezmann remains the shortest priced player to net and is offered at just 4/7 (1.57) with Paddy Power to score at anytime and at 5/2 (3.50) to break the deadlock. There should be goals in this game for France, with Albania missing their captain and best player in Lorik Cana, who is suspended after being sent off in their opening match with Switzerland. The Swiss managed to get behind the Albanian defence on a number of occasions, but spurned a couple of one-on-ones chances; Griezmann will surely not be so wasteful.

Pogba meanwhile had one decent effort on goal well saved by Romania goalkeeper Anton Tatarusanu, although his main function in the team is not necessarily to score goals, but to drive play forward. Nevertheless if he is given space to shoot, he will take the opportunity and he is offered at 7/5 (2.40) to find the back of the net.

Elsewhere in the market for France, Olivier Giroud can be backed at 8/11 (1.73) to score with the Arsenal striker netting one in the opening game, but missing a couple of excellent chances. He is slightly behind Andre-Pierre Gignac in the betting with the former Marseille striker now plying his trade at Mexican club Tigres offered at 4/6 (1.65)

If France are to expose the holes in the Albanian defence, perhaps they might need an injection of speed and arguably their quickest player is Anthony Martial with the Manchester United forward coming off the bench to replace Pogba in the opening game. The 20-year-old is offered at 10/11 (1.91) to find the back of the net while the hero of the victory against Romania, Dimitri Payet, who himself is no slouch, can be found at 11/10 (2.10) to net once more.

For higher odds, backing a player to score two or more goals might offer more value. With Albania the weakest team in the group, this in theory should be the game where the French attacking players should flourish the most. Griezmann is offered at 13/5 (3.60) to score two or more goals and while his only brace for the national team came two years ago in a friendly with Jamaica, Wednesday night's clash could well be the game when the Atletico forward explodes into life at Euro 2016.
