Betting: Lukaku odds-on to choose Chelsea return over Man Utd

The Belgium international says he has reached an agreement with another club and the latest odds suggest a return to Stamford Bridge is most likely

Romelu Lukaku looks set to leave Everton after confirming that he has "reached an agreement" with another club, although the identity of said side has not been revealed.

Having struck 25 Premier League goals for the Toffees in the last campaign, the 24-year-old was always going to be in demand but it would appear that a breakthrough has been reached.

"I don't want to stay at the same level. I want to improve and I know where I want to do that," the striker, who is on international duty with the Red Devils, said on Monday.

The latest odds suggest that Lukaku is set for a sensational return to Chelsea, where he previously failed to establish himself despite impressive loan spells elsewhere within the Premier League.

Paddy Power now offer 8/13 (1.63) that the Blues are Lukaku's next club. Antonio Conte's men have been at the head of the market to bring their former player back to south west London but the latest quotes have seen speculation go into overdrive.

The frontman began his career in English football at Stamford Bridge but was subsequently sold to Everton for £28 million in July 2014 after a season-long loan which saw him score 15 league goals.

Since then, The Belgian has netted 53 times in the Premier League since his permanent switch to Merseyside was confirmed and it appears he is destined for another big money move.

A Chelsea return would see the Belgian reunited with his international team-mates Thiabut Courtois, Eden Hazard and Michy Batshuayi although the latter would surely be considering his options should any deal go through, with the former Marseille striker already largely sidelined since his arrival in favour of Diego Costa.

Manchester United had previously been linked with a move for Lukaku with Jose Mourinho's side now looking unlikely to retain the services of last season's top scorer Zlatan Ibrahimovic. The Swede suffered a serious injury in the Europa League semi-final and now seems destined not to extend his short term deal at Old Trafford which expires this summer.

United are 3/1 (4.0) to sign Lukaku, with Bayern Munich listed as 8/1 (9.0) chances having previously been linked with a move for Arsenal's Alexis Sanchez.
