Spain v Israel Betting: La Roja to cruise closer to Russia 2018

The hosts are overwhelming favorites and our tipster thinks they will record a victory in a relatively low scoring game in Gijon on Friday evening

It's one of the most impressive records in international football and on Friday evening Spain look to keep their unbeaten home status in Word Cup qualifiers intact.

Since playing their first qualifier in 1934, La Roja have never lost a qualifier on home soil and Julen Loptegui's men would expect to keep that run going against Israel at the Estadio Molinon in Gijon.

The 2010 World Cup winners sit top of Group D, but are only ahead of Italy on goal difference and with only the top side in each group guaranteed a place in Russia, there is a huge incentive for the winners.

Israel, for their part, sit just a point and a place behind the top two after three wins in a row and with two wins from two on the road, Elisha Levy's side will hope to cause the hosts at least a few problems.

The visitors, of course, remain massive outsiders with bet365 pricing them at 14/1 (15.00), while Spain can be backed at 1/9 (1.11) and the draw is offered at 7/1 (8.00).

As ever, Spain remain extremely strong at home and in their last six competitive fixtures on home soil they have not conceded a goal.

Macedonia were the last side to score a competitive goal in Spain back in a 5-1 defeat in September 2014, which explains the price of 8/15 (1.53) for La Roja to win to nil. Instead, the price of 11/10 (2.10) for the hosts to win and under 3.5 goals in the game could be more appealing.

Despite some big home wins over Luxembourg and Macedonia in this campaign, Spain are generally not a particularly prolific side. This bet pays out with a 1-0, 2-0, 2-1 or 3-0 win for Spain and looks like an intelligent way of backing Lopetgui's side.

Israel will prove tougher opponents than the other two sides La Roja have faced so far, yet Spain should be able to overcome them without too many problems.
