Lazio v AC Milan Betting: Hosts look worthy of support at the Stadio Olimpico

Lazio welcome AC Milan to Stadio Olimpico for what promises to be a fascinating fixture in Serie A. Monday's match from the Italian capital is significant for both clubs; neither Lazio nor Milan qualified for European competition last term following disappointing campaigns and these two teams have their sights set on attaining that objective this time around.

Vincenzo Montella's men had been beaten in four successive fixtures, but stopped the rot by edging out Bologna in a hard-fought contest on Wednesday and the men from Milan will hope that the result against Roberto Donadoni's side can act as a catalyst to kickstart their campaign.

Lazio, though, have a solid record on home soil; before suffering a disappointing defeat against Chievo in their last match at this venue, Simone Inzaghi's charges had won four successive fixtures at Stadio Olimpico in all competitions.

Furthermore, Lazio have shown no ill effects of that loss to Chievo, with Inzaghi's side dumping Inter out of the Coppa Italia in Milan, before smashing six past Pescara in the league last weekend; Lazio, three points ahead of Milan coming into this clash, are chalked up as Betway's 5/6 (1.83) favourites to double their advantage over Montella's side by winning this one.

Milan ran out as 2-0 winners when these two teams met at San Siro Stadium back in September and the odds compilers offer 16/5 (4.20) that the visitors double their delight by coming out on top in this clash, while Paddy Power offer 11/4 (3.75) that both sides are forced to settle for a share of the spoils.

Montella's men enjoyed a memorable 3-1 win at Stadio Olimpico last term, but that was the only home loss that Lazio have suffered in their last six matches against Milan and Inzaghi's side are good value to get the better of the visitors in this meeting.

GFX FACT LAZIO V MILAN

Milan have a patchy record on the road, having won fewer than half of their away games in Serie A so far this season, while Lazio have lost just two of their last 12 matches on home soil in all competitions, winning no fewer than nine of those games.

Milan's victory against Bologna was only their second in eight matches in Serie A and Lazio look like good value at 5/6 (1.83) to further improve upon their fine home record by taking all three points from Monday's match.
