Following reports that Real Madrid have reached an agreement with Monaco for Kylian Mbappe, Paddy Power are now offering just 2/9 (1.22) that the 18-year-old makes the move to the Bernabeu before the end of the current transfer window.
The player has been linked with a raft of Europe's top clubs, unsurprising given his impressive performances over the previous 12 months.
15 league goals en route to the Ligue 1 title and six more strikes in the Champions League, most of those in the knockout stages, mean Mbappe is one of the hottest footballing properties in the world.
The Spanish giants were 6/4 (2.50) in the same market this morning and have understandably been backed accordingly since the story emerged. The deal is reported to be worth up to €180m, a new world record and easily surpassing the fee Manchester United paid for Paul Pogba's services last summer.
As usual, there is also the option to back Mbappe to remain in situ at Monaco, with 11/4 (3.75) available on the France international still being at the Ligue 1 side on 1st September.
Most of the transfer activity for Los Blancos thus far has been in selling players. Alvaro Morata and Danilo have both departed for the Premier League, joining Chelsea and Manchester City respectively and Florentino Perez is seemingly intent on securing a big money signing to bolster the attacking ranks.
Barcelona are listed at 16/1 (17.0) shots to sign Mbappe before the transfer window shuts. That would certainly look logical if Paris Saint-Germain activate the €222m release clause in Neymar's contract but Paddy Power believe it's a longshot at this point with Madrid seemingly in advanced stages of negotiation.
Of the English contingent, Manchester City are the shortest price at 20/1 (21.0) but Pep Guardiola seems to be focusing his attentions onto Alexis Sanchez now that the former Barca boss has sured up the full back positions with a string of big money purchases.
Arsenal are available at 25/1 (26.0) but at this point the market would suggest that if Mbappe is going anywhere, it's to join the reigning European champions and play alongside Cristiano Ronaldo in the white of Real Madrid.
