Betting: Chelsea can bring Manchester City's run to an end

The title holders are outsiders in this weekend's blockbuster match despite it being played at Stamford Bridge

English Premier League fans will be treated to a classic on Sunday (AEST) as reigning champions Chelsea host a rampaging Manchester City at Stamford Bridge.

Pep Guardiola's men will go in favourites with bet365 at $2.40, having scored an incredible 16 goals in their last three Premier League matches - with results of 5-0 (Liverpool), 6-0 (Watford) and 5-0 (Crystal Palace).

The Blues are priced at $2.90 despite the match being at their home and having not lost a game in any competition since the 3-2 defeat against Burnley on the opening weekend.

City are favoured to win because of the way they are blitzing their opposition, but it must be remembered Antonio Conte's Chelsea are the title holders and are notoriously difficult to beat - especially at home.

The best bet is Chelsea to win or draw at $1.57 and back in Conte to halt the attacking momentum of Manchester City at the bare minimum.

Despite many believing he might not be cut out for England's top-flight, Blues striker Alvaro Morata has scored six goals in his first six league games, including a brilliant treble against Stoke City in his last match. You can get the Spaniard at $5.50 for first goalscorer and $2.25 to hit the back of the net at anytime.

City have an in-form striker of their own with Argentine star Sergio Aguero also scoring six in six to start the season. You can get him at $4.75 to score first and $2.00 as an anytime goalscorer.

Conte will fancy his chances to stifle City using his preferred 3-5-2 formation, and expect Guardiola to set his City charges out with a similar tactical setup.

It will be interesting to see if Conte recalls centre-half Gary Cahill, after he was benched for young defender Andreas Christensen, and it's likely Cesc Fabregas will not start the match in preference of a midfield duo featuring N'Golo Kante and Tiemoue Bakayoko.

Guardiola will have to choose whether to unleash Aguero solo, like he did against Palace with Raheem Sterling and Leroy Sane either side, or partner him with Gabriel Jesus.

There is also a decision to be made at left-back after the knee injury to Benjamin Mendy, with the club not having any other specialists for that position in their squad.

Right-back Danilo may be deployed down the left-flank or utility Fabian Delph could also be used.
