With a number of the frontrunners facing off, Al Hain-Cole thinks now could be the time for Los Rojiblancos to finally go all the way in Europe

After pulling off arguably the greatest comeback in the history of European football against Paris Saint-Germain, Barcelona now find themselves favourites to go all the way in the Champions League.

Having looked dead and buried at 5-3 down on aggregate going into the 88th minute of the second leg, three goals in the space of seven minutes means they will head into the quarter-finals as 11/4 (3.75) front runners.

However, while the manner of their victory was enthralling for the neutrals, the fact they lost 4-0 in Paris in the first place does not inspire too much confidence in their tag as champions in waiting.

Barcelona PSG

With a difficult tie against a polished Juventus, available at 11/1 (12.00), awaiting them in the next round, Luis Enrique’s mercurial side may be best avoided at that relatively narrow price.

What’s more, with one of fellow heavyweights Bayern Munich at 3/1 (4.00) and Real Madrid at 11/2 (6.50) sure to be absent from the final four as they face off in a high stakes quarter-final, this could be the perfect season for one of the continent’s dark horses.

Runners-up in two of the last three editions, Atletico Madrid look well placed to finally get their hands on the trophy after being drawn against rank 33/1 (34.00) outsiders Leicester City in the next round.

Unlikely to leave themselves exposed to the Foxes’ counter-attacking style due to their own pragmatic approach, Diego Simeone’s outfit certainly look like a strong outside bet at 6/1 (7.00) thanks to their recent pedigree in the competition.

Meanwhile, both Borussia Dortmund at 8/1 (9.00) and 16/1 (17.00) Monaco will be daring to dream of glory as they go head-to-head in an entertaining-looking matchup, although their own defensive vulnerabilities mean neither can be backed with too much confidence in what looks like an exceptionally open competition.
