Berekum Chelsea announce Arko-Mensah switch until 2019

Berekum Chelsea have signed midfielder Edmund Arko-Mensah from Wa All Stars in a season-long loan deal.

The 17-year-old was part of the Black Starlets squad that reached the quarterfinals of the 2017 U-17 World Cup held in India.

Mensah had few game times with Wa All Stars last season but his performance caught the eye of All Stars' technical bench who had been promised him more game time to improve.

"The Berekum Chelsea's records make it attractive for young players to join and so I'm grateful to be part of the project," Arko-Mensah said.

"I surely believe Chelsea will provide the needed attention and platform for me to improve and be a great player in the future.

"I will miss Wa All Stars and everything there but I thank them for the opportunity they handed to me to show my talent. I'm looking forward to a great start here in Berekum and a wonderful finish as well," he added.

Arko-Mensah has become the second official player unveiled by Berekum Chelsea this week after goalkeeper Yusif Moro who joined from city rivals Berekum Arsenal.
