Bechem United sign Boampong in a one-year deal

Former Ghana FA Cup champions Bechem United have announced the signing of midfielder Sampson Wirekoh Bampong from Aduana Stars in a one-year deal as free agent.

The 18-year-old mutually parted ways with the Ghana Premier League champions following lack of action, coupled with the club's refusal to trade him to Portuguese side Sporting Braga, according to reports.

"Bechem United is happy to add Sampson Wirekoh Boampong to our squad until the end of the season. We wish him the best of stay with us," a club's statement read.

Boampong has revealed that he is finally happy to get his career back on track and believes he can earn another deal in Europe with hard work.

"I'm elated with the opportunity to join Bechem United. It is a great moment since I've gone through many emotional trauma recently," Boampong told Goal.

"I am going to work hard and hope for a new offer to leave for Europe one day. I was initially frustrated but my heart is now at peace and ready to show what I can do.

"A lot of players went to Bechem with cases like mine but later became household names through perseverance. I'll get there one day," he added.

Goal understands that Boampong has an impending offer from an unnamed Finnish club and his counsel has had an agreement in principle with Bechem to allow him join the club whenever it is finalised.
