The Bafana Bafana camp has been hit by an injury crisis ahead of their international friendly match against Zambia on Tuesday.

Bafana head coach Stuart Baxter confirmed on Monday that Erick Mathoho has joined Themba Zwane, Keagan Dolly and Tokelo Rantie on the team's injury list.

As a result, Rivaldo Coetzee and Lorenzo Gordinho, who is set to make his Bafana debut, will start in the central defence - with captain Thulani Hlatshwayo being rested.

"Tower' [Mathoho] will be out," Baxter told the media.

"Partly because he had a concussion before he came on camp and then he also had a smack on his shoulder," he added.

"So we'll have a young pairing – the skipper will be on the bench," he said.

"I can give you that much. We'll have Lorenzo and Rivaldo," Baxter continued.

"It will be an interesting pairing playing against a strong Zambia team. Can they cope? We'll see," he concluded.
