South Africa international Phakamani Mahlambi has won his first major trophy with African giants Al Ahly.

The Red Devils edged out Al Masry 1-0 in the 2017 Egyptian Super Cup final at the Hazza Bin Zayed Stadium in Al Ain, Abu Dhabi on Friday night.

The only goal of the match was scored by Walid Azarou in the 101st minute in extra-time and Al Ahly held on to win their 10th Super Cup.

Mahlambi, who joined the Red Devils from PSL champions Bidvest Wits prior to the start of the current campaign, did not make the match day squad.

However, the former South Africa youth international has made a few appearances in the Egyptian Premier League for Al Ahly.

He will be hoping to feature when his side face El Geish in a league match at the Air Defence Stadium on Tuesday in Cairo, Egypt.
