Azam beat Mbao to move second

The win has helped Azam to move to the second position, one point above Yanga

Two second-half goals gave Azam FC a 2-1 home victory over a Mbao FC side whose relegation worries increase. 

Shaban Idd and Bernard Arthur strikes were enough for the Ice Cream Makers despite the visitors producing an improved performance after falling behind that brought a late goal from Bakari Mwakiyuke. 

The win has helped Azam to move to the second position, one point above Yanga who will host Stand United on Monday. 

Meanwhile, the defeat for Mbao means they are winless in their past six matches, drawing twice and defeated in their last four games in row.

Elsewhere, Tanzania Prison beat Mtibwa Sugar by 2-1 in a game which was held at the Sokoine, Mbeya. 

Singida United misery continue as they played a home goalless draw with Ndanda FC. 

Maji Maji and Lipuli played a goalless draw in Ruvuma while Ruvu Shooting drew 2-2 with Mbeya City.
