The Phobians' centre-back arrived at the Black Stars B training ground for the first time following his late call-up

Hearts of Oak defender Vincent Atinga was spotted at Ghana's training ground for the first time ahead of the second leg of the 2018 Chan qualifiers against Burkina Faso at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium on Sunday.

After a 2-2 stalemate in the first leg in Ouagadougou last week, coach Maxwell Konadu invited Atinga and Asante Kotoko defender Ahmed Adams as well as Elmina Sharks midfielder Emmanuel Ampiah to beef up his squad.

”Everything have been good with me after my arrival in camp. I am happy to be part of the national team and this is the right time for my call up,” Atinga said.

"This is my first time of joining them but I think I deserve the slot given me and I hope for better days ahead. The coach will decide whether I will be part of the final 18-man squad and also if I will start the game,” he added.

Atinga has featured in every single game in the Ghana Premier League this season for Hearts as they aim at winning their first league trophy since 2009.
