Ghana defender Daniel Amartey has emerged as a January transfer target for English second tier side Aston Villa, according to latest reports.
The Telegraph claims the Black Star and club teammate Leonardo Ulloa are on the wish-list of Villa manager Steve Bruce, as the Claret and Blue have set sights on bolstering their squad to aid their quest for Premier League promotion.
Amartey has been nothing but a bit-part player at King Power Stadium this season, having made only four topflight appearances, involving two starts, so far this season.
He also has four League Cup outings and one FA Cup appearance to his name.
Goal understands the Ghanaian is keen on pursuing a move away, as he seeks to fight his way back to regular action.
According to reports, German Bundesliga side VfB Stuttgart are also interested in signing the 23-year-old, but the utility man’s desire to remain in England could play into the hands of English suitors.
“We’ve got one or two things bubbling but I think it might be towards the end of January,” Villa boss Steve Brucehas said.
“It’s very, very difficult to loan players right now so another two or three weeks changes things. People buy players and some people become available.
“We’ll have to be a bit patient.”
Amartey joined Leicester from Danish giants FC Copenhagen in January 2016.
