​Asiegbu hails morale-boosting Nasarawa United win

Shedrack Asiegbu is delighted Abia Warriors secured a 2-0 win over hard-fighting Nasarawa United on Sunday.

The win helped the Ucendu Babes jump one spot from 10th to 11th in the Nigerian topflight log.

Asiegbu, who won the matchday 25 VAT Wonder Goal award, claims the win will benefit the squad coming off back-to-back losses.

"I am happy that we won the match against Nasarawa United and I know that by God's grace we shall take this performance to our next match and hope for yet another positive result," Asiegbu told Goal.

"Winning a match in the Nigerian League doesn't come easy because the competitiveness at this level is tough, so when one wins a match then one needs to be very happy. 

"This win is kind of morale booster because we have lost two straight matches on the road so we are happy to have won," he concluded.
