The Scientific Soccer Lads have announced the appointment of the 35-year-old who has been tasked with helping the club to a mid-table finish

Liberty Professionals officially unveiled Reginald Asante Boateng as new coach in a three-year deal on Thursday.

The 35-year-old replaces Michael Osei, who joined second-tier side Star Madrid owned by billionaire Nana Appiah Mensah.

Asante believes he has the capabilities to lead the club amid concerns raised by a section of the supporters.

"I've been around to monitor the club and I think I'm ready for the challenge. Liberty have always being a home," Asante said.

"With the materials available, I have no doubt that we will achieve big achievements in player development and victories in the Ghana Premier League. I've got a certain target which I'm highly optimistic that it will be reached and if possible surpasses it.

"I've worked with managers like Sellas Tetteh, George Lamptey and many other senior coaches and the knowledge acquired is enough to move me to places with determination and good decisions," he added.

Liberty were without action on matchday one since Aduana Stars, who were their opponents featured in the Caf Champions League last qualifying round last week.

Boateng will make his league bow on Sunday as Liberty welcome last season's runners-up Wafa to the Carl Reindorf Park.
