Louise Quinn, Vivianne Miedema and Jordan Nobbs all scored as the Gunners Ladies returned to winning ways

Arsenal Women returned to winning ways on Sunday with a 3-0 victory over Sunderland in the Women's Super League 1.

Louise Quinn, Vivianne Miedema, and Jordan Nobbs were on the scoresheet at Arsenal cruised to victory.

The Gunners came into the game on the back of a costly defeat by Reading in the previous weekend, but caretaker manager Ismael Garcia made sure his charges returned to winning ways this weekend.

Despite their early dominance, Garcia had to wait until the 58th minute for the opener. Quinn headed Arsenal into the lead from a Nobbs setpiece to open the scoring at Meadow Park. Soon thereafter, Netherlands international Miedema doubled the lead with a stunning effort from range after linking up with fellow Dutch international Danielle van de Donk.

Nobbs completed the rout in the 76th minute as Arsenal recorded their third win of the season from five matches.

The two-time WSL winners moved to third with 10 points, five points behind the leaders Manchester City and three points behind Chelsea.

They are next in action on Thursday in the Continental Tyres Cup against Watford at Kings Langley while Sunderland also travel to Sheffield on the same day.

It remains to be seen however, if newly appointed manager Joseph Montemurro will be available on Thursday as it is speculated that he is still awaiting his work permit.
