Arsenal go into the penultimate game of their league campaign aiming to keep their top four hopes alive ahead of the season finale this weekend.
The Gunners lie three points behind Manchester City who are also playing on Tuesday evening and must hope that Pep Guaridola's men slip up to have any chance of securing Champion League football.
The north Londoners also have an inferior goal difference although the visit of already relegated, basement club Sunderland could be a chance for Arsenal to get among the goals.
While they have been bottom of the table for much of the season, it is curious to note that Sunderland do not have the worst defensive record in the division. Indeed, four teams have conceded more goals than the Black Cats this season including 11th-placed Bournemouth, with Sunderland not on the receiving ends of too many heavy defeats.
In fact Arsenal inflicted one of their biggest defeats back in October at the Stadium of the Light with a 4-1 triumph, and the Gunners would love a repeat result.
The Emirates, however, has not seen as many goals this season as in previous campaigns, with Arsenal rarely rampant in front of their own fans. Sunderland, for their part, only have the 11th-best defence on the road and their record of 28 goals conceded away from home is the same as Arsenal's.
There could therefore be some value in backing a low-scoring game and under 3.5 goals is offered at the tempting price of evens (2.00).
This bet has paid out in eight of the Gunners' last nine home league matches and 13 times overall this term at the Emirates, making it a shrewd selection for the game on Tuesday night.
