He has been immortalised in statue form outside Emirates Stadium and is widely considered to be one of the finest players to have graced the Premier League.

Henry is, however, now happily retired and has been taking in a spot of live NBA action in San Antonio, where the Spurs are locked in play-off competition with the Houston Rockets.

While Henry has never been one to nail his colours to a Spurs mast in the past, he is happy to do so when it comes to basketball.

He saw his chosen team get the job done on Wednesday evening, with a 110-107 victory seeing San Antonio take a 3-2 lead in a best of seven series.

Henry can now switch his attention back to football and all matters Arsenal, with a midweek win for the Gunners keeping them in contention for a top-four finish.

Arsene Wenger’s side will be back in Premier League action on Saturday when they travel to the bet365 Stadium to take on Stoke City.
