The 26-year-old insists that Jorge Sampaoli’s men will be worried to meet the Super Eagles for the fifth time in the World Cup after November’s defeat

Victor Moses believes Argentina will be scared to take on Nigeria at the 2018 Fifa World Cup in Russia.

Gernot Rohr’s men were drawn with the South Americans, Iceland and Croatia in Group D of the quadrennial showpiece.

The 2013 African Cup of Nations champions and the Albiceleste have previously played in the1994, 2002, 2010 and 2014 World Cup group stages.

And Moses who missed November’s friendly win against Jorge Sampaoli's side is upbeat about the Super Eagles' chance when both sides meet in the last group game at the Saint Petersburg Stadium on June 26.

“We keep getting Argentina for some reason,” Moses told Mirror Online.

“We don’t want to play against Messi, but it is what it is. We’ve got to go and play our football and see what happens.

“After what Iceland did last year [beating England in the last 16 of the Euros], football nowadays, there’s no easy game.

“Argentina are going to be scared of us as well.

“It’s all about football at the end of the day.”

The wing-back who returned to the Blues’ starting lineup against Newcastle United on Saturday revealed that his teammates have ruled out the three-time African Champions from reaching the knockout round.

“Everyone at Chelsea was saying we’re going to get a thrashing and we’re not going to make it through the group stage.

“Hopefully we can go out there and make the nation proud and get out of the group," he concluded.
