Ex-Kenyan international forward Boniface Ambani is not convinced with club signings in the transfer window

It is pre-season transfer window and Kenyan clubs are busy adjusting their squads ahead of league action kick-off.

Players from across the country and foreign land are either already confirmed at various clubs or are yet to be officially announced.  Fans also have their own expectations from their dear clubs as far as the transfer business is concerned.

Gor Mahia foreigners set to join squad in Sudan

Gor Mahia have announced the capture of Rwandan striker Jean-Baptiste Mugiraneza and AFC Leopards have Ghanaian Gilbert Fiamenyo in their fold, just to mention a few major foreigners in the country. After all is said, it is still easy to ask whether scouts at various clubs across the country are doing the right job. Are they spotting correct players for their clubs?

Former Kenyan international striker Boniface Ambani feels that a number of KPL clubs are simply filling numbers instead of signing quality players. He insists that clubs should open their eyes wide and go for players who can last longer with proper form for the betterment of such clubs.

"Many teams just buy players without considering what value they add to the club and end up releasing them at the end of the season. If it is all about buying a player, analyze the situation and buy someone who will add value to the club, a player the club really needs.

"Go for quality players who you will use the whole season; not just a player who adds up the numbers," he told Goal.

The transfer window opened in December 1, 2016, and will officially close on 31st of January2017.
