Lobi Stars striker Anthony Okpotu has confirmed his return to training with his Markudi based side after ending his brief 2018 African Nations Championship break.
The Pride of Rivers forward scored three goals to help the Super Eagles place second in the recent tournament staged in Morocco and he took part in Thursday training.
The 23-year-old scored 19 goals to claim the Nigeria Professional Football League golden boot last season and is eager to surpass the feat this term.
"I'm happy to be back to the club for training after been away for few weeks. I really missed my mates and I'm eager to play again," Okpotu told Goal.
"As you know I went for the CHAN tournament and it was a great experience for me. I am grateful for the opportunity to represent my country at that level and delighted we finished second, even though we would have hoped to win.
"It was a wonderful competition for me though I would have wanted to score so many goals but helping my team reach the finals was more fulfilling to me and not pursuing individual glory. That's done and now I'm back to Lobi Stars.
"Eight games already have gone, but I believe I can still achieve a lot. I am hoping to bring the experience I gained from CHAN to helping Lobi to do better this season.
"I'm not in a rush to promise goals this season but I will give my best and hope to do better than last season."
Lobi Stars are fourth in the league standings with 13 points - three behind league leaders Akwa United from eight games so far this season.
