Andre Silva will be the best player in the world soon, according to his agent Jorge Mendes.
The 21-year-old striker has signed for AC Milan after FC Porto accepted a €38 million bid from the Italian club.
Mendes believes the forward, who scored 21 goals last season in Portugal, will shine for Milan in the coming years.
“He’s a young lad with so much quality,” he told Sky Sport Italia.
“He’ll certainly be the best [player] in Italy in the next few years.
“He can become one of the best strikers in the world, he has everything to be so.
“He has everything to succeed and he’s chosen Milan to prove what he’s capable of.”
Mendes also said that working with Cristiano Ronaldo in the Portugal national team will only help Silva as he continues to grow.
“Now he plays for his national team with the best player in the history of football, CR7, but what matters is that Andre wants to learn every trick and everything else from Ronaldo,” the super-agent continued.
“Having an example and role model like Cristiano, it can only do him good.
“Ronaldo’s very happy for Andre. He told [Andre] he would play for one of the best clubs in the world and, in general, history.”
Silva already has an outstanding scoring rate for Portugal as well, scoring a hat-trick last year against the Faroe Islands, and Mendes believes that Milan fans will be very happy with him.
He said: “We’re talking about a lad who has already scored seven goals for his national team.
“I don’t remember a Milan player of recent years like him.
“He can’t be compared with [strikers of] the past, he has his own characteristics.”
