Aliko outlines Niger Tornadoes' mission against Plateau United

The Ikon Allah captain won't allow his side lose against leaders, wishing they keep their unbeaten run intact in Jos this weekend

Mustapha Aliko has confirmed Niger Tornadoes want to maintain their unbeaten run in the Nigeria Professional Football League against leaders Plateau United on Sunday.

The Ikon Allah has been undefeated in their last five games and their captain is confident his side will not crumble against Kennedy Boboye’s men who have won all their four home matches this season.

 “We will approach the game very strong since they lost their game against Akwa United in Uyo,” Aliko told Goal.

“We are currently working on two things, firstly, we have played five matches unbeaten and we want to make an effort to ensure we extend our unbeaten against Plateau United.

“Secondly, we want to avenge the defeat were suffered against them in a pre-season friendly because we were clearly robbed and believe such can’t happen in a league match.

“We were almost running away with the victory before some controversial decisions from the referee saw us lose 2-1 in the final moments of the match. They surely know what we will good them a good match.”

Tornadoes are sixth on the NPFL log with 12 points from eight games, five behind Week Nine opponents Plateau.
