The striker has completed a move to the North African club ahead of the new season

Former Hearts of Oak striker Kwame Kizito has joined Libyan giants Al Ittihad in a three-year deal, the club has announced.

The 21-year-old was initially linked with a move to Swedish Allsvenskan side BK Hacken in November but no deal was reached.

Reports in the media suggested that Kizito held talks with Hearts top hierarchy in a bid to push for a return to the Phobians before Ittihad’s opportunity emerged.

Kizito believes he has made the right decision for his career and hopes he will never regret it.

"There were lots of offers on the table including reports that I'm coming back but here is the best place to be at this moment," Kizito said.

"I think Al Ittihad is the best place to be judging from the offers I had and I believe I can leave a mark here. I want to achieve my aim as well as help the club also to do same. I'm hoping for the best," he added.

Kizito was part of the Ghana squad that won the 2017 Wafu Cup of Nations.
