Ghana Premier League side Ashanti Gold have been in tremendous form in the month of June leading to the nomination of their manager C.K Akunnor and goalkeeper George Owu in coach and player of the month categories by the league's organising body.
The Obuasi giants won all their four games including two away fixtures against Medeama and Hearts of Oak and moved out of the relegation zone for the first time this season in the period under review.
Aside Akunnor, Tema Youth coach Edward Nii Odoom and Wafa boss Klavs Rasmussen complete the list of nominees with the latter vying for the second time this season after winning it in April. Tema and Wafa were also unbeaten in June after picking two victories and two draws.
Owu kept clean sheets in all four games he played with Ashanti Gold, saving a last-minute penalty against Medeama.
Wa All Stars midfielder David Abagna Sandan and Tema Youth striker Joseph Paintsil have also been shortlisted for the Player of the Month category.
Abagna scored three goals and provided one assist for the defending champions. He was also adjudged man of the match twice.
Paintsil, on the other hand, made three appearances in the month and netted in each game, winning two man of the match awards.
Last month, Medeama boss Evans Adotey and striker Bernard Ofori picked the awards.
