The ex-national star says the 1998 World Cup winner is in good position to lead the Black Stars

Former Ghana captain Charles 'CK' Akonnor reckons former France international of Ghanaian descent Marcel Desailly will make a good coach for the Black Stars.

Desailly is one of several names to have been linked to the vacant job following the departure of coach Avram Grant last month.

“Marcel Desailly should be considered for the Stars' job," Akonnor told Asempa FM.

"I see Desailly as one with the experience to do the job if given the chance.

"In Germany, former players like Rudi Voeller, Jurgen Klinsmann, etc. were given the chance and they proved they could do the job."

Desailly, who was born in Ghana but moved to France at the age of four, has always indicated his desire to lead the Black Stars at one point.
