The two-capped South African defender could join his former Urban Warriors teammates at Bucs if the deal does materialize

PSL giants Orlando Pirates have reportedly reignited their interest in Ajax Cape Town defender Mosa Lebusa.

The Bucs defence has leaked goals this season - having conceded 38 goals in 29 matches which makes it the fourth worst defence in the PSL.

As a result, Bucs are believed to have identified Lebusa as one of their targets as they look to bolster their defence prior to the 2017/18 season.

The lanky player, who can play as a left-back and center back, has been linked with Pirates since the 2014/15 campaign, but a move never materialized.

Recent reports have indicated that the Bucs management are preparing a bid for the 24-year-old player ahead of the July-August Transfer Window.

Pirates will have to make an irresistible offer for Lebusa, whose Ajax contract is due to expire in June 2019 and he's also one of coach Stanley Menzo's key players.

It remains to be seen whether Lebusa will follow on the footsteps of Abbubaker Mobara and Riyaad Norodien by joining Bucs from the Urban Warriors.

The two Cape Town-born players were signed by Pirates in a surprise double deal prior to the 2016/17 campaign.
