Indian national football team coach Stephen Constantine could be set for a contract extension after the All India Football Federation (AIFF) Technical Committee met in Mumbai on Wednesday.
The committee have decided to recommend a new contract be offered to the British coach on the basis of the performance of the Indian Senior men's team.
India have qualified for the 2019 AFC Asian Cup, after coming through their qualification group which consisted of Myanmar, Kyrgyzstan and Macau with a game still left to play.
Also, The Blue Tigers broke into the top 100 of the FIFA Rankings during the period, climbing as high as 96 in July 2017 which was India's best ranking since February 1996. Under Constantine's watch, India have been consistently placed among the top 15 countries in Asia as per FIFA.
India are also currently on a 12-game unbeaten streak and the AIFF Technical Committee felt that there was no reason not to offer a contract to the 55-year-old coach.
The recommendation of the Technical Committee will now be put forward to the Executive Committee of the AIFF for final approval.
