Agent weighs in on Manqele's situation at Kaizer Chiefs

Manqele still has a year-and-a-half left on his current deal with the Glamour Boys, meaning the club will have to pay him if they want to offload him

Kaizer Chiefs will have to do the right thing if they no longer want Edward Manqele, according to the striker's agent Michael Ngobeni.

Amakhosi announced at the beginning of February that they were looking to release the 29-year-old former Bafana Bafana international.

However, the two parties have not been able to reach an agreement, and Manqele continues to honour his existing contract with the club.

"He is still has a contract with Chiefs. So, if they want him to leave they know what to do," Ngobeni told Goal.

Ngobeni revealed that Manqele is disappointed about his current situation with the club.

"He is disappointed about the whole situation," he said.

Ngobeni added that they will only start looking for a club as soon as the matter with Chiefs is put the bed.

"We haven't started looking as yet ... we are waiting for chiefs to decide his future," concluded Ngobeni.

The Randfontein-born frontman joined Amakhosi at the start of the last season from Chippa United, but despite being given a fair amount of chance to impress, he hasn't able to hit the back of the net on a regular basis.
