Agent confirms Tsepo Masilela recovery from injury at Kaizer Chiefs

Kaizer Chiefs defender Tsepo Masilela is cleared and ready to return to action, that’s the words of his agent Mike Makaab, who delightfully confirmed the news.

“Tsepo has recovered nicely from the injury and we expect him back in action before the end of the year. I think he still has a lot to offer. He is a serious professional who looks after himself,” Makaab told Daily Sun.

Masilela suffered an ankle injury in September that has seen him miss the last two months, and his return will also signal a chance to plan for his future with the Amakhosi.

His current contract expires at the end of June next year, and whether or not he will be renewing to end his career with the Glamour Boys remains to be seen.

“We will sit down with management later or early next year to discuss his future, but I hate to speculate. So, let’s wait until then,” Makaab said.

The 32-year-old may find the going tough to regain his spot from the impressive Philani Zulu, who has been deputizing with aplomb in his absence.

The latter has been hailed by Steve Komphela for adding stability to their backline in the absence of key figures such as Ramahlwe Mphahlele among others.

Following his arrival in 2012, Masilela have amassed 143 appearances in all competitions, and amazingly has yet to score in the Amakhosi colours.
