1860 Munchen defender Lumor Agbenyenu has expressed his happiness following his maiden senior national team call-up by Ghana coach Kwesi Appiah.
The 20-year-old was named in the 30-man squad that will face Ethiopia on June 11 in the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers as well as international friendlies against Mexico and United States of America two weeks later.
“I’m so happy with the call up because it has been my dream to play for Ghana and it has finally become a reality,” Agbenyenu told Sportsworldghana.com.
“It is an opportunity for me to make an impact when given the chance to play. I have to give thanks to God and keep working hard to prove my worth. I am really happy,” he added.
Agbenyenu saw full action on Friday when Munchen shared the spoils 1-1 with Jahn Regensburg in the first leg of the German Bundesliga II playoffs, as his side aim at avoiding relegation. The return leg is scheduled for May 30.
He began his career in Ghana with Unistar Academy before he had a lucrative deal to join Portuguese side FC Porto in 2014.
