Tottenham manager Harry Redknapp rules out move for Ben Foster
Spurs boss deems Foster not good enough for number one spot...
By Lewis Jones
Tottenham boss Harry Redknapp has rejected claims he is set to bring Manchester United goalkeeper Ben Foster to White Hart Lane.
Foster, who is vying for England's primary shot-stopper along with West Ham United's Robert Green, has fallen down the pecking order at United and is rumoured to be looking for regular football in order to sustain his international selection.
"If United wanted to loan him, and I don't know if they do, it would be a problem for him to go somewhere and not play.
"He wants to play for England," said Redknapp in a press conference.
"(Heurelho) Gomes is my first-team goalkeeper and has been fantastic so there is no point in coming here as a number two."
The Lilywhites have also been linked with Portsmouth goalkeeper David James, although Redknapp was swift to quell the speculation.
