A new Fantasy Football game is being launched ahead of the 2014-15 season and it is completely free to play! Sign up before the Premier League kicks off this weekend
Comunio offers budding managers the chance to flex their team-building muscles and compete against friends in mini-leagues, and you can do it all from your smartphone for free!
Once signed up, Comunio will, depending on the mini-league rules, either give you 40M 'Play Money' with which to build a team from scratch, or 15 Premier League players and 20M 'Play Money'. From there, you can buy your chosen players and lock horns with your mates.
Comunio offers a dynamic market, with player values changing every day and the possibility to make trades at any time. Every match day, players are rated on their performances and assigned points – a 9.5 grade will reward 10 points, while a 4.5 will deduct six points.
Goals are of course rewarded – with defenders receiving five points, midfielders receiving four and strikers awarded three. If your goalkeeper pulls an Asmir Begovic and bags one of his own, expect six points!
To spice things up even more, Comunio offers the chance to trade players with other managers in each league as you vie for supremacy. Here's five specially picked by Goal for you to target straight off the bat...
5 - ERIK LAMELA - TOTTENHAM (3.620.000)
A snip at just over 3.6M, Lamela has shown signs in pre-season that he is set for a big year at Tottenham. Despite a poor 2013-14, hopes are high for the club-record signing from Roma and the arrival of his fellow Argentine, Mauricio Pochettino, in the dugout should only inspire him to be better this time around. For such a cheap fee, Lamela is a risk worth taking for Comunio managers.
4 - STEVAN JOVETIC - MAN CITY (3.920.000)
Another who is looking to have a big 2014-15 is Jovetic and he has gone about pre-season in such a way that he looks like a bargain at under 4M. Five goals in three friendlies prior to the Community Shield show Jovetic is edging back to his best following a disappointing debut campaign at the Etihad Stadium which saw him start just two Premier League games. A wiry, pacey striker, Jovetic will score goals – and he'll bag Comunio managers plenty of points for a ridiculously small fee.
3 - ROBIN VAN PERSIE - MAN UNITED (17.410.000)
Moving away from the bargains, Van Persie is over four times more expensive than Jovetic but Comunio gaffers will be getting plenty of bang for their buck if they dig deep. With Louis van Gaal in the Old Trafford dugout, Van Persie has a strong ally – he may even receive the captain's armband – and is likely to start the majority of United's games if can stay injury-free. A disrupted campaign under David Moyes was disappointing but he can expect plenty of chances and plenty of goals this time around, especially with the backup of Juan Mata and summer signing Ander Herrera.
2 - ALEXIS SANCHEZ - ARSENAL (21.170.000)
Another player who won't come cheap is Alexis yet he, like Van Persie, will guarantee points. Deployed on the wing at Barcelona, he bagged 19 goals in La Liga last term and could match that tally in England, with Arsene Wenger set to play him as a central striker. One of the most expensive players on the game, the Chilean is expected to lead a title charge for the Gunners this season. He could do the same for the Comunio managers who fork out.
1 - DANIEL STURRIDGE - LIVERPOOL (19.050.000)
|Available for just over 19M, Sturridge is now the main man at Liverpool. With Luis Suarez departed, Sturridge will be expected to fill the goalscoring void and is likely to play every week, barring injuries. As such he appears to be something of a bargain, given that Brendan Rodgers is constructing a team that will be built to his strengths. With the lurking threats of Adam Lallana, Lazar Markovic and Raheem Sterling playing behind the England international, expect him to better last season's 22-goal haul and give Comunio bosses plenty of points!
For those more serious players, Comunio also offers a variety of premium features for a small fee – though you receive the 'Plus Player' features for 30 days upon signing up via Goal.
Plus Player – which comes at a cost of €13.80 (£11.02) for the season – gives users player details, including market values, status updates (including injuries), offers an analysis of each team compared to fellow managers' selections and shows the line-ups of other members. To top that all off, if you sign up you will also receive 'priority access', which means you will be at the head of the queue at peak loading times!
If that wasn't enough, there is also the chance to become a 'Pro Player' for €16.80 (£13.41), allowing you to unleash your inner Jose Mourinho. For the small subscription fee, five new formations become available; 3-6-1, 4-2-4, 5-3-2, 5-4-1 and 3-3-4. You will also be able to table direct bids to competitors, even if the player isn't listed on the transfer market!
If you have some deadwood to shift in the squad, there is also the option of proposing player exchange deals, while you will also be able to use substitutes and message your mates in a comprehensive 'community news' section.
For those who like hyper-realism there is also the option of turning on player salaries – should you do so, you'll receive 30,000 per point instead of the usual 10,000!
And the scoring is not done there; Comunio also offers the chance for managers to predict the results of every Premier League game throughout the season. If you get a score exactly right you'll receive three points, while you'll get two for a correct goal difference and one for the correct result.
For the ultimate planner, you can choose to start your 2015-16 campaign with the same players plus an extra 5M in ‘Play Money’!
