Thiago Silva and Hernanes both expressed their delight after helping Brazil to a 4-2 Confederations Cup win over Italy on Saturday.
Two goals from Fred, a Neymar free kick and Dante's first Selecao strike were enough to seal victory for the tournament hosts, with Emanuele Giaccherini and Giorgio Chiellieni on the scoresheet for the Italians.
And Thiago Silva has emphasised both the importance of the result but also what it meant to the players and the Salvador locals supporting the team.
"It was a beautiful game for the people of Salvador but also a beautiful game for us," the Paris Saint-Germain defender told Goal.
"Coming up against Italy, which was a first for me, we have done well to come out of the match with three points. The result was the most important thing for us at the end of the day."
The thoughts of the Brazil captain were echoed by midfielder Hernanes, who spoke with enthusiasm about his enjoyment of the game and the significance of victory.
"It was a fantastic game, with six goals and plenty of emotion," the 28-year-old added.
"It was a game with a lot of grit and a lot of quality, and truly, above everything else, it was fantastic because we won. It was a great game for the supporters and we are very happy with the result, both for them and for us."
Brazil have topped Group A and will play the runners-up of Group B in Wednesday's semi-final as they look to retain the Confederations Cup.
