Can hosts Brazil win it for the third time running? Will Spain dominate another international tournament? Or is there a surprise on the cards? Let us know your thoughts
The Confederations Cup 2013 kicks off on Saturday with hosts Brazil opening the tournament against Japan.
Luis Felipe Scolari's men have won the last two editions of the competition, in 2005 and 2009, and could make it a hat-trick with another victory on home soil.
Brazil are favourites to claim glory but face stiff competition from reigning world and European champions Spain, while Italy, the beaten finalists at Euro 2012 will be out for revenge.
Uruguay will be confident of their chances with the forward pair of Luis Suarez and Edinson Cavani to call upon, while the likes of Nigeria, Tahiti, Japan and even Mexico all look to face battles to qualify from their groups.
So who will be crowned the winner on June 30? Can Selecao claim a morale-boosting win on home soil following an all-time low Fifa ranking of 22nd? Will Spain dominate another international tournament? Or is there a surprise on the cards?
