thumbnail Hello,

The Liverpool star - who shared the European Golden Shoe with the Real Madrid forward this season - hailed the pair but refused to pick a favourite when questioned

Liverpool striker Luis Suarez could not be drawn when asked to pick a favourite between Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo, but hailed their individual qualities.

The Uruguayan described the Barcelona star as a "beautiful" footballer but feels the 2013 Ballon d'Or winner is "a machine" on the pitch.

Suarez - who shared the European Golden Shoe with the Real Madrid forward this season after both notched 31 league goals - also spoke highly of Messi's team-mate Andres Iniesta and his quick thinking on the ball.

"Messi and Ronaldo are totally different players." he told Dutch publication Helden Magazine.

"I can't say who's the better one of them. Messi has beautiful technique, scores a lot, is an excellent dribbler also because he's a little guy."

"Ronaldo, on the other hand, looks like a machine. It all looks so perfect with him. He combines power with intelligence and always strikes the ball perfect. They're both on the same level.

"But I also admire Andres Iniesta a lot. He's the kind of player that always thinks faster then every other player and sends incredible passes.

"He does the things you don't expect. He sees possibilities no one else sees. But it's not just his way of playing, it's also his way of live. He's always calm."

Suarez, who moved to Liverpool from Ajax, also highlighted Arjen Robben's importance to the Dutch national team - insisting his influence in games will be crucial to Oranje's chances at the World Cup.

He continued: "For the Netherlands, Robben is the player who makes the difference. If Robben doesn't play well, Nthe etherlands don't play well. He has extraordinary qualities."
