Robben and Nigel de Jong out of Colombia clash

The Netherlands international pair both played in their country's 2-2 friendly draw with Japan on Friday but will not feature on Tuesday after picking up injuries
Netherlands coach Louis van Gaal has confirmed that both Arjen Robben and Nigel de Jong will miss Tuesday's friendly with Colombia after sustaining ankle injuries.

Both players featured in Oranje's 2-2 draw with Japan on Friday, with Robben scoring the goal that put the Dutch two goals to the good after 39 minutes.

AC Milan midfielder De Jong was withdrawn midway through the second half, although the Bayern Munich winger played the full 90 minutes.

"There is still fluid in [Robben's] ankle," Van Gaal revealed to reporters.

"This game comes too soon but I think he can play [for Bayern against Borussia Dortmund].

"De Jong was replaced with an ankle injury. It's nothing serious but the game with Colombia comes too soon.

"They have now returned to Bayern Munich and Milan."
