thumbnail Hello,

The Arsenal man was expected to miss Germany's trip to Milan to take on the Azzurri but could now feature after all after meeting up with his team-mates in Munich on Wednesday

Germany coach Joachim Low is optimistic that Mesut Ozil will be match-fit in time for Friday's friendly against Italy at San Siro.

The Arsenal attacking midfielder was expected to miss the match against the Azzurri after contracting the flu but flew to Munich on Wednesday to link up with his international team-mates after all.

"Mesut is feeling better," Low was quoted as saying by Bild. "I expect that he will take full part in our final training session [on Thursday]."

Reports from England suggested that Ozil went out clubbing in the wake of Arsenal's 1-0 loss against Manchester United on Sunday before calling in sick but the 25-year-old has stressed that both matters are unrelated.

"We didn't get back until late in the evening after the game in Manchester," the former Real Madrid man explained.

"I went out for dinner after that but that does not have anything to do with me calling in sick.

"I did not have any problems in the game against United and played for the full 90 minutes."
