The 25-year-old will not face Brazil or Uruguay after suffering a knee injury during training, and will now miss his first international outing following a year-long ban
The French Football Federation (FFF) revealed the Manchester City midfielder is suffering from patellar tendinopathy after complaining of pain during training.
Didier Deschamps had recalled Nasri for les Bleus after the player served a year-long ban following disciplinary issues involving previous coach Laurent Blanc during Euro 2012.
Earlier this week, the 25-year-old stated he would be "beyond reproach" as he bids to get his international career back on track.
The injury is a big blow for Deschamps, who had been keen to ease Nasri back into his squad as quickly as possible, with coach and player holding clear-the-air talks ahead of his return.
"I will have an opportunity to talk with him alone, together. It will be the very first time in a year. But the past is past. He cannot go back or erase it,” Deschamps told Sky Sports earlier this month.
Nasri has made 34 appearances for France, scoring four goals in the process.
