thumbnail Hello,

The Italian was not given the chance to say his goodbyes to the Blues faithful, so he has taken out a page in the Manchester Evening News to illustrate his successes

Well, that's one way to get your message across.

After his unceremonious sacking on Monday - exactly one year after lifting the Premier League trophy with Manchester City - Roberto Mancini was not afforded the opportunity to express a few parting words to the club's fans, who always supported the Italian.

So, how do you go about this? A newspaper advert, naturally.

Emblazoned with the title "Manchester City supports, 3 UNFORGETTABLE YEARS" with pictures of the FA Cup, Community Shield and the Premier League trophy placed just below, it is about as subtle as a Michael Bay film.

But so what? The Italian brought the title back to City for the first time in 44 years, boasted the third-best win percentage of a manager in the club's history and the best since Sam Cowan's short-term tenure in the 1940s.

So goodbye, Mancini. You will always be in our hearts as well.

Ciao.
