The 34-year-old was at Stamford Bridge on Thursday to oversee the pitch being turned into a giant pinboard by the company to acknowledge his achievement as record goalscorer

Chelsea midfielder Frank Lampard has had each of his 203 goals accurately pinpointed by sports giants adidas.

Following extensive research, the brand - who make the boots in which he has scored all of his goals, breaking Bobby Tamblings' record in the process - has gone to great lengths to repay their thanks.

After working out exactly where they went, adidas processed to turn Chelsea's home ground into a huge pinboard.

Footballs were hoisted into the air on poles to show the exact position of where he scored, regardless whether or not those goals were scored home or away.

Each ball was customised with the date, opposition and final score, along with the Twitter hashtag #superfrank.

Lampard has scored 48 penalties so far, so it will have been interesting to see how they managed to align them all on the penalty spot.

The show of appreciation was held at Stamford Bridge, home to many of his 203 finishes, and the degree of accuracy was down to plotting the positions on a virtual 3D axis.

This has turned into quite the week for the Chelsea man following Wednesday's success in the Europa League final, and Thursday's signing of a one-year extension to his contract.

It looks like adidas might have to do it all again next year.
