thumbnail Hello,

A list of training ground rules and their subsequent fines, implemented by Arsene Wenger, has been leaked after a fan posted photos following a tour of the club's facilities

Arsene Wenger enforces a strong set of training ground rules at Arsenal’s London Colney training ground, it has been revealed.

With fines range from £100 to £1000, the fees double if they are left unpaid after a week and German centre-back Per Mertesacker has been tasked as Wenger's debt collector.

The list of offences has been revealed after a fan posted pictures on a social networking site following a training ground tour.

The list, reprinted above, underlines Wenger's reputation as a strict disciplinarian with fines of £100 for incorrect attire inside or outside the dressing room. There is also a £100 fine if spotted with a newspaper in the training complex.

Player punctuality is also a key issue for Wenger, with fines for lateness to training, recovery sessions, travel, meals and meetings varying from £250 to £500.

A £1000 fine is also imposed for the failure to attend home games if the player fails to make the 18-man matchday squad.

Amongst the fines, the strictest appears to be the £500 charge for taking a phone call at any time within the building – although texting is allowed.

Speaking to The Sun, an Arsenal spokesman said: "The pictures are genuine. We understand that they were taken by a friend of a member of staff during a private visit to the training ground.

"The manager was made aware of the picture being published and we are very disappointed. We will review our procedures."
